Well, so much for wasting any time sleeping. Jetlag caught up with us and we didn't wake up until 3PM. Better late than never!

We had ordered London Passes and went to pick them up. Let me tell you...these things are GREAT! For a decent price you get unlimited rides on the Tube (Underground....subway...whatever you want to call it) and free entry to tons of attractions, like the Tower of London.

One of the cool things about the bus tour, is they're good for 2 days, AND include a Thames River boat tour. We decided to cash in on this since it was the last day it was valid. We took the boat down to the Tower Bridge, which you can see in the background. The boat on the right is the H.M.S. Belfast, a retired Royal Navy boat that is now a floating museum. The boat on the right was actually a Brazilian navy destroyer (?) visiting. I saw the building where the famous scene from A Fish Called Wanda where Kevin Cline hangs John Cleese out the window, but didn't take a picture of it. Of course, I wish I had now.

This is a little bit better of a picture of the Tower Bridge. You can actually climb it for a spectacular view of the city, but Dawn doesn't do too well with heights, so we stayed at sea level.

Coming back up the river, we came upon the British Airways London Eye. Built for the Millenium celebration, this thing is a marvel of engineering! Each of those capsules holds like 20 people! I don't have the exact specs on the thing, but it's gotta be the tallest Ferris wheel. The lines for this thing were insane! That is our hotel right behind it.

Here's a better front-on shot of our hotel. Not all of it is hotel, as you can see the word AQUARIUM along the bottom. We were on the top floor in one of the dormers.

Just though I'd take a picture of one of the famous LTI London Taxis! They're no longer all black. Almost all of them carry sponsor names now, even Accenture! Yes, they're all diesel too....so it smells lovely.

Well, you probably know what this is? Big Ben, right? WRONG! This is London's Bell Tower at Parliament. Big Ben is actually the bell inside. (sorry, that's what the guidebooks say). You really don't get a feel for how big this thing is until you're standing right under it, either. Amazing.

I had to get my obligatory shot of me and the tower in at SOME point.

Dawn had to get the obligatory shot of her and the tower in at SOME point.

I wanted my picture taken in one of the famous London telephone booths. I wasn't actually making a call. From what I hear, its actually difficult to find a phone booth in London that accept coins anymore.

Same picture, but Dawn had to do the same thing I did. As you can see in the background, London has Nissan 300ZX's just like we do!

Alright, after much debate, this is Buckingham Palace. The queen wasn't home on this day, as evidenced by the single guard in front. When the prince is in residence, two guards would be stationed out front.

Dawn in London's famous Picadilly Circus. Interestingly enough, there are no elephants, tightropes, trapezes, or elephants. Disappointing in that regard, but this is London's equivalent of Times Square with all the billboards and monstrous traffic.

That's me in the aforementioned Picadilly Circus. Guess I used all the good jokes above, huh? Damn

Back to Day 1 On to Day 3!
